Jasper Lecon –

Jasper Lecon is a versatile German conductor recognized for his dynamic musical interpretations and creative approaches. Known for his engaging performances, Jasper seamlessly navigates between classical standards, opera, and contemporary music. The Rheinpfalz Zeitung praises his “agile, powerful musical language that is free of airs and graces but permanently focuses on the finest nuances“.

Jasper has established a significant presence in the music scene and currently holds a scholarship from the Conductors Forum of the German Music Council. His talent has been recognized with international awards, including 2nd prize and the prize of the orchestra at the 2nd Kussevitzky International Conducting Competition, as well as the prize of the city of Matera at the 5th Nino Rota Conducting Competition.

Driven by a curiosity for new artistic expressions, Jasper founded the Junges Kollektiv MusikTheater. Under his musical direction, the ensemble has performed opera productions such as Le nozze di Figaro, G. Puccinis Gianni Schicchi oder B. Brittens The Rape of Lucretia and was mentioned in the Retrospective of the German Theatre Prize DER FAUST.

He conducted and worked with renowned orchestras such as the Orquestra Sinfonica do Porto, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Ensemble Modern, the Staatskapelle Weimar, and the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen and Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim.

His expertise and passion have been further refined through participation in esteemed masterclasses like Campus Dirigieren and Zurück ans Pult of the German Music Council, alongside numerous international masterclasses and festivals. He has benefited from the mentorship of distinguished conductors such as Rüdiger Bohn, Douglas Bostock, Vassilis Christopoulos, Peter Eötvös, and Ekhart Wycik

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jasper is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He has served as a lecturer conducting the orchestra at the University of Education Heidelberg and conducted the Strohgäu Sinfonieorchester Schwieberdingen. Since 2023 he is conductor of the orchestra of the Pforzheim University.

Jasper studied orchestral conducting, music education and mathematics in Karlsruhe and Mannheim and is currently continuing his studies at the renowned Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
